Where Your Money Goes


Funds raised through the annual Community Campaign go to programs that align with Cincinnati 2020, our community's vision for the year 2020, of a welcoming Jewish Cincinnati that provides an exceptional quality of life for every one of us. Cincinnati 2020 encompasses three pillars--Caring, Connecting and Discovering--which reflect what have always been our community's priorities.


2015 Funding for "Connecting" Programs = $691,267

Mayerson JCC Financial Assistance and Programming Support
Ensures that all members of the community can fully participate in JCC membership, programming, camp, after school and the early childhood school, regardless of their ability to pay.

2015 Funding = $175,000


JVS Career Services
Helps individuals who are unemployed, underemployed or interested in moving to Cincinnati expand their employment and career opportunities through a customized, supported job search.

2015 Funding = $148,165


Cincinnati Hillel
Enriches the lives and strengthens the Jewish identity of Jewish college students in Greater Cincinnati by offering a broad range of social, cultural, religious and personal growth experiences in an atmosphere that is creative, energetic and pluralistic.

Additionally, connects Cincinnati college students and college graduates with personal growth and career opportunities in Cincinnati that encourage them to live here, to raise their families here and to be part of tomorrow’s model Jewish community.

  • Shabbat services and dinner
  • Jewish holiday observances
  • Jewish learning: study group for graduate students, "guest" rabbi presentation and one-on-one study opportunities with a rabbi

Jewish Life at the JCC
Promotes and advances Jewish pride and identity by infusing Jewish perspective and values into programming for meaningful, pluralistic opportunities.

  • Jewish ambiance: Holiday displays and interactive resources
  • Holiday and Shabbat celebrations
  • Jewish content and curriculum
  • Teens/tweens: BBYO, March of the Living, Maccabi experience
  • Adult education
  • Cultural arts
  • Staff enrichment and development

 

2015 Funding = $75,000


Ohio Jewish Communities
Represents Jewish Federations, agencies and congregations to enhance the Jewish community’s ability to serve vital human needs by securing funds, educating and maintaining relationships with government officials and encouraging sound public policy.

2015 Funding = $35,752


PJ Library (Jewish Family Service and JCC)
Supports families in their Jewish journey by sending Jewish-content books, CDs and DVDs on a monthly basis to children from age 6 months to 8 years.
Additionally, partners with Jewish and community organizations for Jewish family, children's and parenting programs.


2015 Funding = $34,450


Binyan Cincinnati Outreach Program (
Cincinnati Community Kollel)
The most effective program ever initiated to make Cincinnati a destination for young, community-minded Jews.

  • Recruits young families who have the capactiy to help build Cincinnati
  • Provides resources for them to continue their advance Judaic studies part-time
  • Helps those finishing their studies find professional opportunities
  • Provides physical space for incubation of new small business endeavors
  • Expects all members, alumni and spouses to take active roles in and contribute financially to the community

 

2015 Funding = $20,000


Ohio Valley Hillel Consortium
Ensures that regional Hillels—such as Indiana, Miami, Ohio and Kent State Universities—receive the funding required to provide their Jewish students with quality programming.

2015 Funding = $17,825


MIami University Hillel
Helps students find a balance in being distinctively Jewish and universally human by encouraging them to pursue tzedekah (social justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and Jewish learning, and to support Israel and global Jewish peoplehood.

  • Shabbat services and dinner
  • Challah for Hunger: Baking and selling challah to raise money for a local food pantry
  • JM-CORP: Networking and mentoring program to connect Jewish students at Miami University with members of the Jewish community in Cincinnati.

 

2015 Funding = $26,500


Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati
Represents 17 local religious denominations that work together on a few agreed-upon social concerns to impact social policy decision-making in Cincinnati.

2015 Funding  = $8,000


Hillel National
Enriches the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate students on over 500 campuses so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.

2015 Funding = $3,500


Sign Language Interpretation
Provides sign language interpretation when needed for programs and events in the Jewish community.

2015 Funding = $2,500


American Jewish Committee Cincinnati
Enhances the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, and advances human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world.

2015 Funding = $2,500


National Federation/Agency Alliance (Jewish Federations of North America)
Brings together national Jewish agencies and Jewish Federations to promote deeper relationships and create synergy.

2015 Funding = $1,000


Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA)
Provides breaking news, investigative reporting, in-depth analysis, opinion and features on current events and issues of interest to the Jewish people.

2015 Funding = $900
